Lazy Guide to Healthy Starbucks - My Ode.

I'm not going to lie- I can't function well without coffee. However, how can you make coffee taste delicious without adding up the calories? Here are some of my lower calorie favorites from Starbucks. If you can drink it black, more power to you!

1. THE DAILY - Iced Coffee w/ Soy Milk.
My Order: Venti Iced Coffee w/ Soy Milk, Unsweetened.
Calorie Estimate: 60
This is my all time favorite. They use vanilla soy milk, so there is no need to add sugar :)

2. THE HOT DAY - Venti Passion Tea Lemonade.
My Order: Venti Passion Tea Lemonade, half sweetened.
Calorie Estimate: 130
The weather has been in the 90's lately, and sometimes you just need something that quenches your thirst. Passion Tea Lemonades are so good, but sadly they put about 6CL (Classic) in it normally. That's 120 calories! The drink is very sour naturally, so I find that you need at least 3CL to cancel it out.

3. THE NAUGHTY DAY - Iced Coffee w/ Caramel Drizzle & Whole Milk.
My Order: Venti Iced Coffee w/ Caramel Drizzle (I put in my own milk).
Calorie Estimate: 180
I love caramel. Why cut yourself off from something you love? This drink is too sweet for everyday, but sometimes I get the craving ;).

4. THE DESSERT - Iced Green Tea Latte.
My Order: Venti Iced Green Tea Latte, 1 pump Sweetener (1CL) & Skim Milk.
Calorie Estimate: 230
Matcha actually has quite a few health benefits. According to Natural Living Ideas, it has antioxidants, enhances calm, boosts memory/ concentration, increases energy levels, detoxifies the body, and fortifies the immune system! The best pro is that it burns calories! So even though its the highest in calories, isn't it just burning off itself? :P 1CL is enough to sweeten the entire drink opposed to the usual 4CL they put in it.

5. THE NEWBIE - Cold Brew w/ Vanilla Sweet Cream.
My Order: Grande Cold Brew w/ Vanilla Sweet Cream.
Calorie Estimate: 130
I just saw ads for this baby this summer. They even put the calorie count on the ad! Once I tried it, I fell in love and drank it for a week straight. Cold brew is amazing- the bitter taste is completely gone and it is so smooth. Each batch takes a long time to make, so make sure you order it before 2/3PM or else they will run out!

Some of my top hot drinks to order at Starbucks are a Venti Nonfat Cappuccino (80 calories) and a Tall Skinny Peppermint Mocha (100 calories). They also have a nice 100 calorie frappucino- Tall Light Coffee or Caramel Frappucino. I hope these tips helped!

Oh Starbucks,
you are the most empathetic of friends.
You always know exactly what I want.
Whether it be a 
coffee, 
tea, 
or some mornings,
a croissant.
Your options for customization so endless,
I'm afraid, at times, I can get too overzealous.
But really, 
how can you stop -
there can be 
caramel, 
soy, 
or even peppermint atop.
Oh Starbucks, 
I thank you for your service.
Your coffee has given my days purpose.
