A Midsummer Day's Haul.

summer shopping haul
Summer would not be complete without a little shopping. To me, a perfect day is walking through streets and streets of stores, sipping a large iced coffee and stopping to get sushi for lunch (wow I sound really basic.. 0:)). Sadly, I was really disappointed with the lack of quality and variety of clothing available this season. However, I still managed to find a few gems - all miraculously under $40 too ;). Check out what I bought in this try-on haul!

floral off the shoulder crop top
Trends keep recycling and the 90's never seem to be over. Really thick chokers are in style right now. But, it can be tough to pull off when you have a short neck like me. The trick is to wear a low cut or off-the shoulder top to elongate your neck. Also, you can always fold the choker in half! Recently, I discovered WEEKDAY on ASOS and fell in love. They sell classic pieces with small intricate details/ special cuts. I will definitely order more items from there in the fall!

KIMONO - FOREVER 21 (Only One Color Left)
I am very picky when it comes to florals. There is no rhyme or reason, but I am just drawn to certain patterns (sometimes they are absolutely hideous too). At the moment, Forever 21 has tons of different flowery pieces. If you are in the mood to do some digging, I'm sure you'll find something you like there (for cheap ;))! Btw, structured kimonos & wrap tops are very slimming for people with broad shoulders. I was shocked to see how elegant this looked on me! And you can wear it 3 ways - open, closed loosely, or wrapped tightly.
mango a line skirt
An A-line skirt is a staple piece in any girl's wardrobe. I like this one because it has pockets! If you are short and/or have a big bottom, look for skirts that don't go up too high above the waist. Skirts that hit your belly button are the most flattering.
steve madden pistol boots
It was very hard to break out of my habit of only buying black shoes. The fact of the matter is, dark brown rustic boots match black pieces too! Brown & black is a timeless combination and it makes me look like more of an adult :P. I got these at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! So hurry now and get cute shoes for a lot less! The next pair I want to get are taupe booties or maybe pom-pom sandals :).

Until next time,
