The Only Colors You Need.

T - SHIRT - FREE PEOPLE  //  SHORTS - FREE PEOPLE
//  LIP PENCIL - FREE PEOPLE (Whirl)
Despite the never-ending controversy over whether black and white should be considered colors, they are the two staple shades in my wardrobe. I own more white, black, and even white and black pieces than I can count. You can match pretty much anything with these hues, and of course, they work amazing together as well. Here are some of my favorite b/w outfits for every occasion.

1.  E A R N  Y O U R  S T R I P E S.
SHIRT - WINDSOR  //  SKORT - BRANDY MELVILLE (Similar)  //  FLATS - FOREVER 21
//  CHOKER - VANESSA MOONEY
Stripes are so fun and classic. Vertical stripes, in particular, are naturally slimming. Recently, it has been very hot and sunny, so wearing an off-the-shoulder shirt has been a LIFE- SAVER. It feels like I'm wearing a tank top, but the cuff covers the widest part of my arms. Win, win.

2.  D O N ' T  J U D G E  A  B O O K  B Y  I T S  C O V E R.
SHIRT - H & M (Similar)  //  PANTS - ZARA  //  BOOTS - HONG KONG BOUTIQUE (Similar)
When I was younger, people would sometimes assume I was goth for wearing all black or shirts with crosses/skulls. But really, don't let people dictate what you should and should not wear (unless its completely inappropriate). Wear what makes you happy! I wore a ton of black because I thought it was pretty and the "skinnying" effect was just a plus. On that note, the pattern has little addition signs; not crosses haha. B/w is great platform try out crazy patterns!

3.  D A Y  O R  N I G H T.
BLAZER - ZARA  //  TANK - BRANDY MELVILLE  //  SHORTS - FREE PEOPLE  //  SANDALS - BIRKENSTOCK
This outfit transitions itself from day to night. What more can you ask for? The concept is basic and almost a uniform. Every piece mixed and matched with many other options. The tank can be a graphic tee; the shorts can be joggers; or, the blazer can be a cardigan, etc.

Black and white items are not going to exit my closet any time soon. I love the challenge of finding different ways to spice up something so simple and understated.

Until next time,
